About the NYC
Collegiate Esports Circuit

The Future of Gaming. Built in NYC. The NYC Collegiate Esports Circuit (NYCCEC) is a city-backed competitive and career development initiative. We provide a professional ecosystem for colleges and universities across New York State to bridge the gap between campus play and the professional creative economy.

Our Mission

Our mission is to build a sustainable, structured ecosystem where New York students turn their passion for gaming into professional growth. We prioritize workforce exposure, healthy competition, and long-term community alignment. By providing a citywide stage, we ensure the next generation of NY talent has the resources to succeed both in the lobby and in the industry.

Our Vision

We envision a New York City that serves as the global capital for collegiate esports. Our goal is to set the standard for safety, inclusion, and career readiness. We are building the infrastructure so that every student, regardless of their background, has a clear pathway from local campus clubs to a seat at the table in the global gaming market.

History and Production

NYCCEC was established to meet the growing demand for a formalized collegiate structure within the five boroughs and beyond. The circuit is produced by Video Game Amateurs (VGA) in partnership with the NYC Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME). Following the success of the NYC Video Game Festival and the Battle of the Boroughs, we recognized that students needed more than a one-off event. They needed a season-long home that reflects the energy and diversity of NYC.

What We Offer

We don’t just host matches. We build infrastructure. NYCCEC offers a comprehensive suite of opportunities for students and institutions:

  • Structured Competition: High-quality, city-backed tournaments that emphasize school pride and fair play across SUNY, CUNY, and private institutions.

  • Workforce Exposure: Real-world experience in event production, broadcast technology, and social media management through our events and partner network.

  • Institutional Governance: A credible framework for school administrators to build safe and sustainable esports programs on their own campuses.

  • Industry Pathways: Direct connection to the NYC creative economy through partnerships with major gaming, music, and tech brands.
